MENA Tour

We are pleased to announce the seventh edition of the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) Tour, an initiative by the Shaikh Maktoum Golf Foundation.

With support from the Arab Golf Federation and R&A, the tour is aimed at the best MENA National Amateur and Professional players, along with eligible players from the around the world.


Why the MENA Tour? 

The creation of the MENA Tour opens up new windows of opportunity for MENA National Professionals and Amateurs to develop their golfing skills, alongside international players on home soil.

With large prize funds available, the MENA Tour provides a unique platform for success and development.    


Who is eligible to join the MENA Tour?

The tour is open to all MENA nationals, and International Professionals and Amateurs.

MENA National Amateur golfers must be of handicap 4.4 (four) or less on joining the tour, as well as at the commencement of each tournament. International Amateurs are required to have a handicap of 1.4 (one) or less.


Tournament Field & Format

Each tournament will be a minimum of 54 holes, stroke-play event.

Players play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 50 players (Professionals or Amateurs,) and those who tie for 50th place, go forward to the final round. A minimum of 10 Amateurs will make up the final field.

The maximum starting field is 138 players, not including restricted field and/or co-sanctioned tournaments, consisting of approximately 113 Professionals and 25 Amateurs (field size may vary due to daylight restrictions)

The official season runs from January to December each year, and culminates with the Tour Championship in early November.    


Order of Merit

Separate Order of Merit for Professionals and Amateurs.

Each tournament has Official World Golf Ranking status and R&A recognition for World Amateur Golf Rankings.    


Prizes


The standard prize fund of a non co-sanctioned MENA Tour Tournament is $50,000 for Professionals, except that some Tournaments may carry a lesser prize fund, but not less than $30,000. The Tour Championship prize fund is $100,000. The leading Amateur at each non co-sanctioned MENA TOUR Tournament will receive a Pro-shop voucher for AED1,000.
